Gepelde gerst
Samen met tarwe was gerst één van de basisvoedingsmiddelen van de Oude Grieken en Romeinen. Het was het voedsel van de gladiatoren. Gerst is rijk aan Koper, Mangaan, Fosfor, en is bron van Magnesium, Ijzer, Zink, vitamine B6 en voedingsvezel. Gerst is bovendien arm aan totaal vet en verzadigde vetten en bron van eiwitten.

Gebruik:
Neem 200 gram gerst voor 4 personen.
Breng 2 volumes water aan de kook.
Voeg snuifje zeezout toe en 1 volume grondig gespoelde parelgerst.
Laat 45 minuten zachtjes koken onder gesloten deksel.
