Arik Levy, in 1963 geboren in Tel Aviv, Israël, studeerde Industrial Design aan het Art Center College of Design, La Tour de Peilz in Zwitserland. Van 1992-'94 doceert hij aan de École Nationale Supérieur de Création Industrielle / Les Ateliers, Parijs en geeft hij Design Workshops aan verschillende designscholen in Europa. Tegelijk ontwerpt hij decors voor moderne dans in het Grand Theater van Genève, het Nederlands Dans Theater, het Fins Nationaal Ballet en het BatSheva Dance Center in Israël.
In 1997 start hij samen met Pippo Lionni 'L design', een onafhankelijke studio in Parijs. De activiteiten van de studio gaan van het ontwerpen van sculpturen en installaties tot het ontwikkelen van industrieel design en gebruiksvoorwerpen. Levy werkt sinds 2000 samen met Vitra, voor wie hij een serie voor kantoorinrichting ontwierp en verschillende projecten superviseerde.
