La SendaDiego Losado, the innovative winemaker from the renowned Bierzo region in north-west Spain, has crafted a truly unique and intriguing 'rosé'. However, this wine didn’t come about through the traditional method of short maceration with red grapes. Instead, it was discovered entirely by accident. Diego hand-harvested white grapes from 70 to 80-year-old Dona Blanca and Palomino vines and placed them in a vat that had previously been used for red wine. Forgetting to clean the vat, he left some residual must inside, which gave the wine its natural rosé color. Since then, Diego has embraced this distinctive process and continues to make the wine this way.
