Deze sardientjes zijn afkomstig van een verantwoorde visserij. Ze worden gevangen in Bretagne in Frankrijk en worden uitsluitend gevist met ringzegens: een traditionele visserijtechniek waarbij gebruik wordt gemaakt van een roterend net om elk contact met de zeebodem te voorkomen. Zo wordt schade aan de bodem voorkomen en dat komt de biodiversiteit in de Franse wateren ten goede. Je kunt deze sardines direct uit blik eten, of op een toastje of cracker. Blikje leeg? Giet de overgebleven olijfolie in een vinaigrette of als dip met brood.
