De radijs is een pittig rood knolletje, met prachtig wit vruchtvlees. Vanwege dit uiterlijk wordt radijs vaak gebruikt als decoratie. Geschikt om rauw te eten, tussendoor, in salades of in de kaasfondue. Bewaartip: Snij het loof zo dicht mogelijk bij het radijsje eraf. Laat het kleine dunne worteltje aan de onderzijde eraan zitten. Doe alle losse radijsjes in een afsluitbaar bakje in de koelkast. De radijsjes blijven zo lang vers.
