Diep donkerrode tot paarse kleur, zeer aromatisch bouquet met daarin ook kleine zwarte bessen. Mooie zachte, rijpe tannines en rijke smaak, waarin duidelijk pure chocolade. Zeer stevig karakter . In de afdronk ontdekken we frisse peper. De prachtige harmonie is verbluffend. Eén van de aller-allerbesten! Eén van de weinige Quinta’s die nog de druiven met de voeten treed in de grootste lagares uit de Dourostreek. Zeer traditioneel. Minimaal 18 maanden lagering. Botteling in mei/juni 2005. De oogst van 2003 is duidelijk één van de kleinste wijnoogsten sinds jaren, maar uitzonderlijk mooi.
