Vanaf de top van de berg Olympos keken de goden toe op het oude Griekenland. Daar verschenen ze plotseling: de mensen. Ze bouwden tempels en brachten allerlei offers aan de goden. Maar ook hadden ze het vuur gestolen, en kapten ze bossen en legden ze velden aan, en stichtten ze steeds grotere steden. Als mieren krioelden ze over de aarde.
Langzamerhand begrepen de goden dat dingen niet meer hetzelfde waren als voorheen - die mensen waren niet meer weg te denken, en dat betekende niet veel goeds...
