Peter Johansen studeerde in 2004 a aan de Koninklijke Deense Academie voor Schone Kunsten. Zijn werk omvat vaak modellering en 1:1 schaling. Zijn werk is geïnspireerd op het dagelijks leven en zijn directe omgeving. Als zoon van een Noorse vader en een Zweedse moeder, en na zijn hele leven in Denemarken te hebben gewoond, is Peter Johansen in hart en nieren Scandinavisch.
"Scandinavisch van geest, modern van uitdrukking", zo omschrijft Peter Johansen zijn eigen ontwerpen.
