Bananenbloesem, de bloem van de bananenplant, ook wel af en toe bananenhart genoemd, is eetbar en wordt veel gebruikt als groente in de meeste Zuid-Aziatische en Zuidoost-Aziatische landen. Dit is de Thaise versie van ingeblikte bananenbloesem in pekel van het veganistische merk Nature's Charm. Als groente wordt bananenbloem gebruikt als een populair ingrediënt in Thaise, Filippijnse en Vietnamese soepen en salades. Het wordt gestoomd of gekookt of zelfs rauw gebruikt in deze landen. In Zuid-India is een droge curry gerecht genaamd 'Thoran' bereid met bananenbloesem bloemen erg populair, vooral in de staat Kerala.
Geweldige textuur geschikt voor elk gerecht, met name veganistische vis gerechten.
