Description
Mas des Colobris – Ròc 2019 is a remarkable expression of Carignan from the quaint community of Gignac in the South-Eastern French Occitania region.
The wine is crafted from a 70-year-old vineyard*. Rooted in clay-limestone soil, the vines have thrived for decades, producing grapes of exceptional quality.
Ròc 2019 offers a captivating aroma of tobacco, laurel, and peppery notes, complemented by a truckload of ripe juicy blackberries and dark cherries.
The palate delivers a harmonious balance of silky tannins and vibrant, lush acidity, culminating in a lingering finish of fresh raspberries seasoned with cinnamon and cloves.
This big, full-bodied old barrel aged wine holds its balance, providing complexity without being overpowering.
It will pair greatly with grilled meats, hearty stews, or aged cheeses.
*Old vines yield a modest amount of grapes, but they pack an incredible aromatic punch into their limited harvest. Their resilience is particularly valuable in natural winemaking, requiring less intervention in the vineyard and providing an authentic expression of the terroir.
