Polenta komt oorspronkelijk uit het noorden van Italië. Het is een dikke, warme pap gemaakt van maïsgriesmeel (die men daar bij een warme maaltijd net zo eet als de Nederlanders aardappelen). De polenta wordt vaak opgediend met een tomatensaus of geraspte kaas. Ook in zoete combinaties, zoals met vruchten, is polenta erg lekker. Het graan is op ambachtelijke wijze gemalen tussen molenstenen en gegarandeerd glutenvrij verwekt. 350 gram
