‘Heel voorzichtig duwde Melle tegen de oude houten deur van het werkhuisje. KRAKKKK. PIEPPPPPPPP. Hij keek voorzichtig om het hoekje. Opa had niets in de gaten. Hij stond midden in de kamer, half zingend met een kromme rug, iets te kleien… Melle sloop zachtjes dichterbij. ‘Wat ben je aan het maken, Grote Krulman?’ riep Melle vlakbij zijn oor.’
Opa schrikt en gooit plagend een stukje klei naar Melles hoofd. Melle duikt en de klei verdwijnt in een open kast. Als hij het van opa moet zoeken, ontdekt hij een doos. Een doos met een geheim…
