Als Bas hoort dat zijn vriendin Jume naar Suriname gaat, wil hij dolgraag mee. De dorpen van Jumes familie in Suriname, heeft ze hem verteld, zijn heel speciaal. Dat is het feest om te vieren dat de slavernij is afgeschaft. Dat in veel landen niemand meer gevangen wordt gehouden en gratis hoeft te werken voor iemand anders.
Eenmaal terug in Nederland willen Bas en Jume alles uit de kast halen om van de Bigi Spikri-optocht van Keti Koti een nog groter succes te maken. Zal het hen lukken?
