Op tafel staat de afgrijselijkste rugzak van de hele wereld. Een grote bruine, met leren onderkant, heel veel vakjes en leren riempjes. Hij ziet eruit alsof hij uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog komt. Of misschien zelfs de Eerste. Zo ruikt hij in ieder geval.
Obi moet met de trein naar zijn moeder, omdat zij hem niet op kan halen en zijn vader hem niet weg kan brengen. En hij moet ook nog die stomme, oude rugzak om, omdat hij zijn andere kwijt is geraakt.
Alsof dat allemaal al niet erg genoeg is, geeft hij ook nog iets te veel geld uit aan een zakmes, waardoor hij niet genoeg heeft om een treinkaartje te kopen. Dus besluit Obi naar het volgende station te lopen. Dat gaat natuurlijk helemaal niet goed. En dan hoort hij ook nog iets in zijn rugzak…
Pieter Koolwijk flikt het ’m weer. Hij schrijft een verhaal vol Koolwijkeske personages waarbij je moet lachen, je je hart vasthoudt, je buik zich soms omdraait en je maar al te goed begrijpt wat er gebeurt in die steeds voller wordende rugzak van Obi. Linde Faas maakt er weer een perfect kleurrijk geheel van.
