Het summum van Chateauneuf du Pape. Het zijn hier afgeronde kwartsiet stenen die op een van de beste terroirs van het gebied de beste rijping aan de druiven geven. Ze absorberen overdag de warmte van de zonne stralen deze 's-nachts uit naar de druiven die zo optimaal kunnen rijpen. Het gemiddelde rendement is 30 hl. per hectare. De wijn wordt samengesteld uit 3 druivenrassen. De druiven worden bij volle rijpheid met de hand geplukt, waarna nog een selectie van druiven plaats vindt om alle ongewenste bestand- delen te verwijderen. 80% van de wijn is gerijpt in nieuwe eikenhouten vaten voor de duur van 12 maanden. Daarna volgt een assemblage, waarna de wijn nog eens 18 maanden rijpt op vat. Deze wijn heeft een ongekend fluweel zachte smaak zonder harde kantjes. Veel kleur en een zeer fraaie licht kruidige diepe smaak. De top van de Chateauneuf du Pape in het glas .....!
