In dit fraaie boek vind je de verhalen van twintig in en om Utrecht wonende schrijvers. Alle verhalen spelen op een bijzondere locatie in de stad. Annet Schaap schreef bijvoorbeeld een verhaal dat speelt in het Julianapark, het verhaal van Anna Woltz speelt in de bibliotheek op de Neude, onze eigen Maria Postema schreef een verhaal bij het Rietveld-Schröderhuis, Maarten Kuipers schreef over de watertoren in Overvecht en Enne Koens over de Kanaalstraat en de Ulu moskee. Al lezend leer je onze prachtige stad nog weer wat beter kennen, ook al omdat bij ieder verhaal een kort stukje geschiedenis beschreven staat. Het boek, samengesteld door Koos en Mathijs Meinderts, is geïllustreerd met tekeningen van Annette Fienieg en foto's van Jan Buteijn. Leentje van Wirdum deed de vormgeving.
Het ideale boek om (de geschiedenis van) onze stad verder te verkennen en te ontdekken wat een geweldig keurcorps aan kinderboekmakers er in onze stad woont.

Mathijs Meinderts schreef bij elke locatie een kort historisch overzicht.
