Atta is een eigenwijs Mengelmeisje. Ze heeft er genoeg van om met de vrouwen en kinderen bessen te verzamelen. Ze wil op jacht! Dus sluipt ze achter de mannen en jongens aan… maar haar avontuur krijgt een andere wending dan ze verwacht als ze oog in oog komt te staan met een woedende mammoet.
Op de vlucht raakt Atta de weg kwijt en belandt bij een Neandervolk. Ze wordt warm ontvangen door de vrouw die de stam leidt. Iets té warm zelfs… het lijkt wel of die haar niet meer wil laten gaan.
Atta is een kind – krachtig, impulsief en nieuwsgierig naar de wereld – dat je direct in je hart sluit. Haar spannende, humoristische avontuur was Linde Faas op het lijf geschreven. Het resultaat is een boek dat nu al niet meer weg te denken is uit de kinderliteratuur!
